Overview

The Extreme Networks 98507-1130C is a cloud-managed Universal Compute Platform (UCP) hardware appliance optimized for containerized application hosting at the network edge. Engineered for on-premises deployments in small enterprise branch offices, clinics, and educational facilities, this device acts as a localized engine for ExtremeCloud Edge models. It features an integrated Kubernetes control plane and a distributed filesystem across a 1U computing footprint, eliminating the need for complex, full-scale servers in remote or space-constrained operational environments.

Equipped with an Intel Atom C3758R processor and 32 GB of system memory, the hardware drives edge computing tasks with predictable, localized performance. Networking interfaces consist of four native 1 GbE RJ45 data ports and two specialized Inter-Cluster-Connect (ICC) ports for highly resilient cluster physical topologies. Deployable within standard 19-inch server racks or as a standalone tabletop unit, it secures cloud-orchestrated container microservices directly on the customer premises. This appliance should not be deployed as a primary high-throughput core network switch or high-density storage array, as its architecture is purposed explicitly for lightweight container virtualization and edge management.
