The HPE JL308 is a 40 Gb/s QSFP+ bi-directional optical transceiver module designed for high-density, short-reach multimode fibre links in data centre networks. It uses a duplex LC connector and bi-directional signalling (20 Gb/s per fibre strand) to deliver full-duplex 40 Gb/s over a standard duplex multimode fibre pair, avoiding the need for MPO-style cabling. The module supports link distances up to 150 m on OM4 fibre (approximately 100 m on OM3) and integrates Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) for real-time diagnostics of voltage, temperature and optical power.
