Overview :

The Extreme Networks 25/10G-LR-SFP10KM is a high-performance, dual-rate optical transceiver designed for data center and enterprise networking environments. This SFP28 module provides flexibility by supporting both 25GbE and 10GbE connectivity over single-mode fiber (SMF), making it an ideal solution for upgrading network backbones or bridging mixed-speed infrastructure.

Engineered for reliability, it utilizes a 1310nm wavelength to achieve reach distances of up to 10 kilometers. It is commonly deployed in leaf-spine architectures, high-speed aggregation, and campus uplinks where stable long-range connectivity is required.

Compatibility is restricted to Extreme Networks hardware platforms that support the SFP28 interface and the specified dual-rate functionality. It is not suitable for multi-mode fiber (MMF) infrastructure without appropriate mode conditioning, nor should it be used in legacy 1GbE ports.
