The StarTech JG661A-ST is a high-performance, hot-swappable SFP+ optical transceiver engineered for 10-Gigabit Ethernet deployments in HPE-based networking environments. It serves as a direct replacement for the HPE JG661A, providing a cost-effective solution for short-range data transmissions without compromising performance. Network engineers utilize this module to bridge top-of-rack switches to servers or storage arrays within high-density data centers.

This transceiver is designed for multimode fiber (MMF) infrastructure, utilizing a 1310n wavelength to support distances up to 300 meters. It features a duplex LC connector and provides Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM) for real-time tracking of optical output power, temperature, and supply voltage. Its low power consumption of less than 1.3W ensures thermal efficiency in high-port-density line cards and switches.

Designed for maximum uptime, the JG661A-ST is MSA compliant and built to meet or exceed OEM specifications. It is intended for use in HPE FlexFabric, Aruba, and FlexNetwork platforms where 10GBASE-LRM connectivity is required. Note that this module should not be used for long-haul single-mode fiber runs, as it is optimized specifically for 300m multimode applications.
