Overview :

The StarTech SFP10GLRST is a 10 Gigabit SFP+ transceiver module designed for long-range single-mode fiber deployments in enterprise and data center networks. It is commonly used by network engineers to add or replace 10GbE uplinks in switches, routers, and firewalls requiring Cisco-compatible optics.

This module supports 10GBASE-LR connectivity over single-mode fiber with a wavelength of 1310nm and a maximum transmission distance of up to 10 km. It delivers full 10 Gbps throughput and includes Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM) for real-time optical performance visibility.

The SFP+ form factor allows hot-swappable installation, minimizing downtime during upgrades or replacements. With low power consumption (<1.3W), it is optimized for dense switch environments where thermal efficiency is critical.

It is specifically programmed for Cisco compatibility and works with platforms such as enterprise switches and routers supporting SFP-10G-LR optics. It should not be used with multimode fiber or short-range SR applications.
