Overview
The HPE JH148A is a high-performance, Layer 3 managed Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for the access layer of large enterprise campus networks and the edge of data centers. Its primary function is to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable connectivity for end-user devices, wireless access points, and IP telephony. It addresses the need for a robust access platform that can support power-hungry devices while providing high-speed uplinks to the network core. This switch is engineered with HPE's Intelligent Resilient Fabric (IRF) technology, which allows up to nine physical switches to be virtualized and managed as a single logical device. This architecture provides significant operational simplification, high availability, and load balancing across the stack. With dual, hot-swappable power supply slots, it can support a Power over Ethernet (PoE+) budget of up to 1440W, enabling it to power a dense deployment of 802.3at-compliant devices without the need for separate power injectors.
