The HP J9642A is the 6-slot modular chassis switch targeted at networking engineers and IT teams deploying high-capacity, flexible infrastructure. It supports installation of a variety of 10/100/1000 and 10 GbE modules and is designed to solve the challenge of scaling ports, uplinks and features in enterprise-edge or distribution layer environments. With support for up to 48 10 GbE or 144 autosensing gigabit ports (or mini-GBICs) it provides significant density in a 4U form factor. This chassis fits in campus core, data-centre aggregation or large branch edge deployments where slot-based modularity is required. It integrates into HP's (now HPE) management ecosystem including CLI, web GUI and SNMP based systems×as part of a unified wired and wireless infrastructure.
