The QNAP TL-R1600PES-RP-US is a high-performance 3U rackmount expansion enclosure designed for massive storage scaling in QNAP NAS or Windows/Linux server environments. By leveraging a PCIe Gen 3 x8 interface, it delivers significantly higher data transfer rates compared to traditional SAS or USB expansion units, supporting up to 64Gb/s bandwidth.

Equipped with 16 hot-swappable bays, this unit supports 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SATA 6Gb/s drives. It is purpose-built for data-intensive applications such as 4K/8K media editing, virtualization backups, and large-scale surveillance archives. The architecture allows for the daisy-chaining of multiple units to achieve petabyte-scale storage.

Designed for enterprise data centers and edge deployments, the TL-R1600PES-RP-US features a redundant power supply (RP) configuration to ensure high availability and prevent single points of failure. The unit integrates seamlessly with the host's power state, automatically turning on or off in synchronization with the connected NAS or server.

This is a JBOD expansion unit and cannot function as a standalone NAS. It requires a host device with a compatible PCIe slot and QNAP-certified expansion cards for operation.
