The HPE 804338-B21 is an enterprise-grade SAS RAID controller designed for HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers. As a Type-A modular controller, it provides high-performance storage connectivity and data protection without occupying a standard PCIe expansion slot. This controller is engineered for environments that demand robust I/O performance and advanced data resiliency, such as database management, messaging servers, and other write-intensive applications. At its core, the Smart Array P816i-a SR Gen10 controller leverages 12 Gb/s SAS technology and a PCIe 3.0 x8 host interface to maximize data throughput. It features a substantial 4 GB Flash-Backed Write Cache (FBWC), which significantly accelerates RAID performance and protects data integrity in the event of a power loss. This combination reduces latency for applications that require heavy data logging and enhances overall storage efficiency.
