Overview :

The APC SRT1000RMXLA-NC is a rack-mounted online double-conversion uninterruptible power supply designed to provide continuous AC power protection for critical IT infrastructure. It is typically deployed by network engineers, data center operators, and enterprise IT teams to maintain stable power for servers, storage arrays, and network equipment during outages or unstable grid conditions. The unit converts incoming AC power to DC and back to AC, isolating connected equipment from voltage fluctuations, frequency instability, and power disturbances.

This UPS provides a rated capacity of 1000VA / 900W and delivers pure sine wave output suitable for devices with active PFC power supplies. The system operates on a nominal 120V input and output environment and includes six NEMA 5-15R battery-backed outlets. The double-conversion topology ensures continuous power conditioning with output voltage distortion maintained below 2%. Runtime is supported by a sealed lead-acid battery module with approximately 10 minutes of runtime at full load and around 22 minutes at half load. Recharge time for the battery module is typically about three hours.

The form factor supports installation in standard 19-inch equipment racks and occupies 2U of rack space. This makes the unit suitable for deployment in server racks, IDF network cabinets, and small edge compute racks where rack density is constrained but continuous power protection is required. The UPS can also operate in tower orientation when required, allowing flexible deployment in office IT rooms or branch infrastructure environments.

Integration with monitoring and shutdown systems is enabled through USB and serial interfaces along with an integrated SmartSlot expansion interface. The SRT1000RMXLA-NC model includes a network management capability designed for remote monitoring and automated shutdown operations through compatible power management software. This allows IT administrators to integrate the UPS into centralized infrastructure management environments.

A common deployment scenario includes a small rack supporting virtualization hosts, storage appliances, and network switches where uninterrupted power and clean voltage output are required. In this environment the UPS provides conditioned power during normal operation while maintaining battery backup capacity for controlled shutdowns during utility outages.

This device is not suitable for environments requiring high-capacity rack power distribution or large data center power loads. Deployments requiring multi-kilowatt redundancy or three-phase power infrastructure should instead utilize higher-capacity UPS platforms designed for large server clusters or full rack redundancy architectures.
