Overview :

The APC SUM1500RMXL2U is a 2U rack-mountable line-interactive uninterruptible power supply designed for IT racks, network closets, and edge infrastructure requiring 120V power continuity. It is deployed by network engineers and infrastructure teams to maintain uptime during utility disturbances and short-duration outages while enabling controlled system shutdown.

This unit provides 1500VA / 1425W output capacity at 120V AC. It supports automatic voltage regulation (AVR) to correct undervoltage and overvoltage conditions without transferring to battery. Eight NEMA 5-15R outlets provide battery-backed output for connected servers, switches, firewalls, and storage devices.

The 2U rack form factor fits standard 19-inch cabinets and can also be configured for tower deployment. It is typically installed in branch offices, IDF racks, edge compute cabinets, and small MDF environments where space efficiency and scalable runtime are required.

Management integration is enabled through USB, serial (RS-232), and a SmartSlot expansion bay for optional SNMP/network management cards. This allows centralized monitoring, event logging, and automated shutdown coordination across connected systems.

In practical deployment, this UPS supports single-rack server stacks with core switching and firewall appliances, maintaining runtime long enough for controlled shutdown or generator transfer.

It is not intended for 208V/230V environments or applications requiring double-conversion online topology for continuous voltage isolation.
