Overview

The APC SRT3000RMXLA is a rack-mounted double-conversion online uninterruptible power supply designed to deliver continuous conditioned power to critical IT infrastructure. It is deployed by infrastructure engineers protecting servers, storage systems, and network switching platforms that must remain operational during utility power disturbances. The UPS isolates connected equipment from voltage fluctuations, frequency instability, and outages by continuously converting incoming AC power to DC and regenerating a clean AC output.

This system provides 3000VA / 2700W output capacity with a pure sine wave output suitable for modern IT equipment using active power factor corrected power supplies. Because it uses an online topology, connected loads are continuously powered by the inverter rather than switching to battery during power anomalies. The UPS operates on a 120V input and output configuration and connects to facility power using a NEMA L5-30P input plug while providing eight NEMA 5-20R outlets and one NEMA L5-30R outlet for protected equipment.

The unit is designed for installation in standard 19-inch rack cabinets, occupying 2U of rack space. This footprint allows deployment in enterprise network racks, small data center cabinets, and edge infrastructure installations where reliable power protection is required but rack space remains limited. The system supports extended runtime through optional external battery modules, allowing infrastructure teams to scale runtime capacity for larger server or virtualization workloads.

Operational management is provided through an integrated LCD console and communication interfaces including USB and serial connectivity. A SmartSlot expansion interface allows installation of network management cards for remote monitoring, alerting, and automated shutdown integration with server and virtualization platforms. These capabilities allow the UPS to be integrated into centralized power management and monitoring systems used in distributed infrastructure environments.

A common deployment includes a rack containing virtualization hosts, storage arrays, and aggregation switches where sustained power quality is required. In this configuration, the UPS maintains continuous conditioned output while providing several minutes of runtime during outages, allowing automated workload migration or controlled shutdown procedures.

This model is not intended for facility-scale power protection or multi-rack data hall deployments. Environments requiring tens of kilowatts of power capacity or building-level electrical redundancy typically rely on large modular UPS platforms installed at the electrical distribution layer rather than individual rack-level UPS units.
