Overview :

The HP JD495A is a hot‑pluggable Small Form‑Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver module designed for Gigabit Ethernet over copper cabling. It enables IT infrastructure teams to convert SFP ports on switches or routers into RJ‑45 copper interfaces, thus leveraging Cat5e or Cat6 cabling for up to 100‑metre reach. The unit supports auto‑negotiation across 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds and fits into campus access, branch offices or data centres where fibre may not be available or cost‑justified. It integrates into standard SFP‑port network equipment, allowing engineers to maintain uniform modules and easily replace or upgrade without rewiring.
