The StarTech US1GC30SFP is a specialized USB-C to SFP adapter designed to provide a secure and high-speed fiber optic network connection through a laptop or desktop’s USB Type-C port. It solves the connectivity challenges of mobile workstations in high-security environments where wireless (Wi-Fi) or copper (RJ45) connections are restricted or susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Featuring an open SFP slot, this adapter provides the flexibility to use a preferred Gigabit SFP transceiver module, allowing for customization based on fiber type (Single-Mode or Multi-Mode) and required distance. The unit utilizes the Realtek RTL8153-VB-CG chipset, ensuring reliable Gigabit Ethernet performance while remaining bus-powered, eliminating the need for an external power source.

This adapter is optimized for field technicians, government employees, and data center engineers working in high-interference or high-security zones. It is fully compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux.
