The NETGEAR XS508M is an unmanaged multi-speed Ethernet switch designed for high-density bandwidth demands in SMB server closets, edge data centers, and enterprise workstations.It provides instant 10G and multi-gigabit connectivity without complex L2/L3 configuration overhead, allowing network architects to bypass software management where simple plug-and-play bandwidth expansion is required.
Featuring 7 dedicated 100M/1G/2.5G/5G/10G RJ-45 copper ports and 1 combo 10G SFP+ port, the unit dynamically negotiates optimal link speeds per device.It operates over legacy Cat5e wiring up to 5Gbps or Cat6/Cat6a cabling for full 10Gbps line rates.
Designed for standard 1U 19-inch rack enclosures or desktop deployment, it incorporates a internal power supply and an active cooling fan for reliable continuous operation. This switch is built for high-throughput NAS storage, 802.11ac/ax Wi-Fi access points, and video editing SANs. It should NOT be deployed when VLAN tagging, L2 managed features, CLI configuration, or Power over Ethernet (PoE) are required.
