Overview

The APC SBP3000 is a service bypass panel designed to provide a manual bypass path around an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), enabling maintenance or replacement of a UPS without interrupting power to the connected load. It is deployed by data center technicians, infrastructure engineers, and electrical maintenance teams in environments where continuity of critical loads must be preserved while servicing or upgrading UPS equipment. The bypass panel ensures that electrical equipment continues to be powered directly from utility power during UPS maintenance operations.

This device supports 100‑240V AC input and output, accommodating global voltage environments including 100V, 120V, and 230V systems. The SBP3000 accepts hardwired three‑wire (phase, neutral, ground) input and output connections, and is rated for up to 30 A maximum input current, enabling bypassing of UPSs supporting loads up to approximately 4800 VA under a balanced load profile. The panel incorporates overload protection suitable for typical UPS maintenance operations where load continuity and safety are priorities.

The construction is engineered for 19‑inch rack installation, occupying 2U of rack height. Rack‑mount brackets are included for installation in standard server cabinets or network equipment racks. The rigid rack form factor keeps bypass wiring neat and accessible in telecommunications rooms, network closets, and data center infrastructure.

The SBP3000 does not include power conditioning, battery backup, or UPS functionality. Instead, it provides a hard bypass path that allows utility power to flow directly to protected equipment during planned maintenance or UPS failure scenarios. Operators use it when replacing or servicing a UPS without interrupting power to servers, storage arrays, networking gear, or other critical loads.

This product is not suitable as a primary UPS, power conditioner, surge protector, or for runtime extension. It is intended exclusively for temporary bypass operations during UPS maintenance or replacement.
