Detailed Specifications
HPE P05887-B21 ProLiant DL385 Gen10 2U Rack Server (1P 8 SFF)
Overview
The HPE P05887-B21 is a factory-integrated server built on the ProLiant DL385 Gen10 2-rack-unit chassis, designed for data-centre or mid-tier environments that want single-socket AMD EPYC performance with enterprise-class manageability. In its base configuration it comes with an AMD EPYC 7251 processor (8-core, 2.1 GHz) and 16 GB of DDR4 registered memory, making it a solid choice for virtualisation hosts, file/application servers, or branch datacentre consolidation workloads. The chassis supports up to eight 2.5″ hot-plug small-form-factor drive bays (SFF) configured out of the box, with a built-in HPE Smart Array P408i-a 12 Gb/s SAS controller giving RAID 0/1/10/5/50/6/60 support.his makes the unit versatile for mixed storage workloads×from high-performance database caching to dense VM storage. The server includes a 500 W redundant power supply configuration in its base form, allowing for resilient, efficient rack installations. For IT operations teams, this model integrates remote management via HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) and supports SmartMemory, large memory configurations and optional NVMe/accelerator risers, giving headroom for future growth. It is delivered in a 2U standard rack footprint, making it compatible with conventional enterprise racks and tools. The P05887-B21 is a pragmatic balance between cost, performance, and upgrade potential.
Key Features
Single AMD EPYC 7251 (8-core, 2.1 GHz) delivers strong base compute density in a 1-socket format for lower cost and power.
Eight front hot-plug 2.5″ SFF bays offer flexible storage for SAS/SATA (and optional NVMe) workloads in a 2U chassis.
Embedded HPE Smart Array P408i-a (12 Gb/s SAS) RAID controller supports enterprise RAID levels and caching for performance and protection.
500 W redundant power supply (or RPS) provides availability and efficient power draw in rack environments.
Enterprise remote management and firmware support via HPE iLO and SmartMemory architecture, enabling lights-out and fleet operations.
