Overview

The APC AR3100SP is a 42U server rack enclosure designed for housing enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and rack power distribution units. It is typically deployed in data centers, enterprise server rooms, and staging environments where equipment must be securely mounted, transported, and deployed within a standardized 19-inch rack ecosystem. The enclosure supports pre-integrated rack builds, enabling IT teams to install equipment in the rack prior to shipping and deploy it onsite with minimal reconfiguration.

The enclosure is part of the NetShelter SX family and incorporates a shock-pack packaging system engineered to allow fully populated racks to be transported safely. The design includes a shock-absorbing pallet, protective shell, and unloading ramp that protect installed equipment during transit and handling. This allows organizations to pre-rack servers and network devices before shipment to remote facilities or branch sites, reducing installation time and risk of equipment damage during logistics.

With 42 rack units of vertical capacity, the cabinet supports a wide range of rackmount infrastructure including compute nodes, storage arrays, network switches, and rack PDUs. Adjustable mounting rails support equipment depths up to approximately 36 inches, enabling installation of modern enterprise servers and deep-chassis hardware. The enclosure also provides removable side panels, split rear doors, and front mesh doors to support cable routing and airflow management inside the rack.

The cabinet is designed for deployment in data center aisles, enterprise server rooms, and edge compute racks where standardized rack infrastructure is required. Integrated casters and leveling feet allow the enclosure to be positioned within equipment rows while maintaining structural stability when populated with heavy server equipment.

This rack enclosure is not intended for lightweight network cabinets or small wall-mount deployments. It is designed for full-size data center rack installations where high equipment density, airflow management, and transport protection are required.
