Overview

The StarTech OR41GI-NETWORK-CARD is a high-density, server-specific network interface card designed to meet the Open Compute Project (OCP) 3.0 standard. Utilizing the Intel I350-AM4 controller, this card provides four independent Gigabit Ethernet ports, offering reliable throughput and low CPU overhead for virtualization, cloud computing, and high-traffic enterprise environments.

The OCP 3.0 design (SFF 4C+ form factor) optimizes port density while supporting the "patch-flush" or vertical mounting common in modern server architectures. One of its primary advantages is the support for hot-swapping, which enables Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) maintenance without significant system downtime. It leverages the PCIe 3.0 bus for efficient communication with the host system and includes built-in LAN transformers to maintain signal integrity and reduce EMI over distances up to 100 meters.
