BUFFALO LS720D0402B – LinkStation SoHo 700 4TB 2-Bay 2.5GbE NAS
Overview
The BUFFALO LS720D0402B is a LinkStation SoHo 700 desktop NAS with 4TB of installed storage across two 2TB SATA hard drives. It provides two drive bays, 2.5GbE networking, 2GB of memory, and a hexa-core 1.3GHz processor for centralized file storage and backup in home-office and small-office environments.
The system ships with the two installed drives configured in RAID 1, providing a mirrored 2TB usable storage capacity. RAID 0 and JBOD modes are also supported when different storage configurations are required.
Technical Information
The LS720D0402B uses SATA 6Gbps drive interfaces and provides one RJ-45 2.5GBASE-T network port. The Ethernet interface supports 2.5Gbps, 1000Mbps, 100Mbps, and 10Mbps operation, allowing the NAS to operate on both multi-gigabit and conventional Ethernet networks.
Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports provide interface rates up to 5Gbps, while one USB 2.0 Type-A port supports up to 480Mbps. The USB interfaces are intended for compatible peripherals and NAS functions rather than direct computer connection.
Compatibility
The LS720D0402B supports TCP/IP networking and SMB/CIFS and FTP/FTPS network file services. Its 2.5GBASE-T interface is backward compatible with 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 10BASE-T Ethernet.
Buffalo documentation lists compatibility with Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, and macOS 10.12 or later. Buffalo also lists the OP-HD2.0BST-3Y 2TB drive as a direct replacement drive for the LS720D0402B.
