Overview
The Ubiquiti UDR-5G-Max UniFi Dream Router 5G Max is a desktop Cloud Gateway combining 5G cellular connectivity, WiFi 7, routing, firewall, switching, UniFi application hosting, and NVR storage in one device. It supports up to 30+ managed UniFi devices and 300+ simultaneous connected users, with up to 2.3Gbps IDS/IPS throughput.
The gateway provides a 10G SFP+ interface, four 2.5GbE RJ45 ports including one PoE port, integrated tri-band WiFi 7, and 5G Sub-6 cellular connectivity. A pre-installed 64GB microSD card provides storage for NVR functionality.
5G Cellular Connectivity
The UDR-5G-Max supports 5G NR Sub-6 and 4G LTE connectivity across a broad range of cellular bands. Ubiquiti specifies peak 5G NSA speeds of up to 3.4Gbps downlink and 560Mbps uplink, while 5G SA is specified at up to 1.8Gbps downlink and 650Mbps uplink. Actual cellular performance depends on carrier service, signal conditions, network configuration, and local availability.

WiFi 7
Integrated WiFi 7 provides simultaneous 2x2 MU-MIMO radios on 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz. The 6GHz radio supports channel bandwidths up to 320MHz, with a maximum supported data rate of 5.7Gbps. The gateway can provide wireless coverage for an area specified by Ubiquiti at up to 160 m² (1,750 ft²).
Wired Networking
The UDR-5G-Max includes one 10G SFP+ port supporting 10GbE or 1GbE operation and four 2.5GbE RJ45 ports supporting 2.5GbE, 1GbE, and 100MbE. One RJ45 port provides PoE output with a total PoE budget of 15.4W.
UniFi Applications and Security
The gateway runs the UniFi application suite, including Network, Protect, Access, Talk, and Connect. Its security features include a stateful firewall, application-aware Layer 7 firewall, DPI and traffic identification, zone-based advanced filtering, and intrusion prevention and detection.
The integrated 64GB microSD card provides NVR storage for supported UniFi Protect deployments. Ubiquiti specifies management capacity for 30+ UniFi devices and camera capacity of up to 5 HD, 2 2K, and 1 4K camera according to its current technical specifications.
