The HPE MSR2003 (JG411A) is a compact, 1U rack-mountable modular Router designed for medium branch office use. It provides two fixed Gigabit RJ‑45 LAN ports and offers modular expansion through up to three Smart Interface Card (SIC)slots or one DSIC + one SIC combination. Powered by an 800 MHz RISC processor and 1 GB DDR3 memory, it delivers up to 1 million packets per second (Mpps) routing performance and supports advanced services such as IPSec VPN acceleration (up to ~400 Mbps), dynamic VPN, and zero-touch provisioning (ZTP). Equipped to simplify WAN, LAN, and secure connectivity, the MSR2003 enables cost-effective deployment of integrated routing, switching, and security features ideal for remote and branch office networks.

Features

Built around modular flexibility, the MSR2003 chassis supports up to three SIC expansion modules—or one DSIC plus one SIC—allowing for features such as additional Ethernet ports, fiber uplinks, or cellular 3G/4G LTE connectivity. Alongside its dual fixed Gigabit Ethernet ports, it includes a USB 2.0 port (e.g., for 3G/4G modem or external storage), as well as a console/AUX port for out-of-band management. Routing table capacity supports up to 300,000 IPv4 and 200,000 IPv6 entries, with support for OSPF, BGP‑4, IS‑IS, RIP, RIPng, static IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, VRRP, PIM, GRE, IGMP, MSDP, RSVP, and BFD. Security features include IPsec VPN, firewall ACLs, NAT, 802.1X authentication, and centralized management via SNMP, SSH, CLI, HTTP, and integration with HPE Intelligent Management Center. The device consumes a maximum of ~54 W and includes AC power flexibility (100–240 VAC rated), making it efficient for both desktop and rack-mounted deployments.
