APC APCRBC117 – Replacement Battery Cartridge for Smart-UPS

Overview

The APC APCRBC117 is a sealed lead-acid replacement battery cartridge designed for select APC Smart-UPS models. IT administrators, network engineers, and data center personnel deploy this cartridge to maintain uninterrupted backup power for servers, storage devices, and networking equipment. The APCRBC117 ensures critical systems remain operational during utility outages and supports controlled shutdown procedures when the original UPS battery reaches end-of-life.

Each APCRBC117 unit delivers a nominal 12V DC output and supports hot-swappable replacement, allowing battery servicing without powering down the UPS or attached devices. Compatible Smart-UPS units automatically detect the cartridge, providing runtime monitoring, battery health status, and end-of-life alerts through the UPS management interface.

The cartridge is suitable for both rack-mounted and tower UPS deployments, commonly installed in server rooms, branch office racks, or edge IT cabinets. Its compact form factor allows easy installation while maintaining proper airflow and clearance within the UPS chassis.

UPS monitoring integration provides real-time status, runtime estimation, and proactive maintenance notifications, reducing the risk of unexpected UPS failure and ensuring continuous protection for connected infrastructure.

The APCRBC117 is not compatible with non-APC UPS systems, industrial high-voltage UPS models, or chemistries other than sealed lead-acid. For deployments requiring extended runtime beyond the APCRBC117’s capacity, multiple cartridges or external battery packs designed for higher-capacity Smart-UPS models should be considered.
