Eaton SR4POST50HD 50U Heavy-Duty 4-Post Open Frame Rack
Overview :
The Eaton SR4POST50HD is a heavy-duty 50U, 4-post open-frame rack engineered for high-density IT equipment mounting in server rooms, data centers, and communications closets. Rack and infrastructure engineers deploy it where robust support, unobstructed airflow, and deep mounting capability are required without the enclosure of a full cabinet. It organizes and secures switches, servers, storage arrays, PDUs, and other 19″ rack-mount devices while allowing easy access for cable management and service.
Constructed from cold-rolled steel with a black powder-coat finish, this open-frame rack supports a 3000 lb (1360.8 kg) static and rolling load capacity, making it suited for heavy equipment stacks including UPS systems and battery packs. The self-squaring design simplifies frame alignment during assembly and provides bolt-down provisions for stability.
This rack fits in traditional rack environments such as data center aisles, MDF/IDF rooms, and telecom closets where airflow and ease of access improve equipment cooling and serviceability. Its open design eliminates doors and side panels, enabling natural convection cooling and unrestricted cable routing.
Integration uses EIA-310-D compliant 19″ square-hole vertical rails with numbered U markings, enabling secure mounting of standard rack devices and toolless button-hole installation for vertical PDUs and cable managers. Optional side panel kit and heavy-duty caster kit accessories are available to enhance aesthetic finish and mobility.
In practical use, SR4POST50HD is suited for high-density server racks or network aggregation points where cooling and physical accessibility are priorities. It is not appropriate where a lockable cabinet or dust/environmental enclosure is required, or in seismic zones where specific bracing and enclosure certifications are mandated.
