APC AP9565 Basic Rack Power Distribution Unit

Overview

The APC AP9565 is a basic rack‑mount power distribution unit engineered to distribute single‑phase AC power to multiple devices within server racks and network cabinets. Power infrastructure teams deploy this PDU to centrally route mains power to compute, storage, and networking hardware where centralized power outlets are required. This unit is a passive distribution device and does not provide metering or switching controls.

The AP9565 supports up to 3.68 kVA (3680 VA) load capacity at 16 A, accepting nominal input voltages in the 208 V or 230 V AC range, with an IEC‑60320 C20 inlet and twelve IEC‑60320 C13 outlet receptacles. This configuration allows simultaneous powering of multiple devices from a single feed where rack PDUs are needed to manage outlet density and cabling.

Constructed for installation in standard 19‑inch rack systems, the unit occupies 1U of vertical space and includes rack‑mounting hardware for secure attachment. Its horizontal or vertical mounting flexibility enables deployment in both rear and side channels of cabinets depending on rack layout and cable management preferences.

The AP9565 is built with a robust metal enclosure and C13 outlet group appropriate for IT gear loads up to 16 A per phase. It is suitable for environments where basic power distribution without remote monitoring is acceptable, such as labs, branch offices, or non‑critical data closet racks.

It is not intended for mission‑critical power control scenarios where metered or switched outlet PDUs, or intelligent power monitoring, are required. Users seeking remote load control or power sequencing capabilities should select an advanced or managed power distribution product instead.
