The APC AP8862 is a zero-U rack PDU with full metering capabilities, engineered for data centers and high-density rack deployments. It supports 20A at 120/208V (3-phase) input and provides 36 NEMA 5-20R outlets to distribute power to downstream devices while enabling detailed energy monitoring per outlet group. In operations, AP8862 enables administrators to monitor real-time current, voltage, kW, and kWh to optimize rack power balance and prevent circuit overloads. Its 0U form factor mounts vertically along the rack posts, saving horizontal rack space for servers and network gear.This PDU is ideal in colocation cages, enterprise racks, or distributed IT closets where power visibility, capacity planning, and alarm thresholds matter. The integrated metering helps spot imbalances early, trigger alerts on threshold breaches, and manage power consumption actively. The unit also offers user-definable alarm settings to warn of overcurrent or under/overvoltage conditions. Rated for 3-phase power, it’s suited for facilities using 208V
