Overview

The APC AP8866 is a metered rack power distribution unit engineered to distribute three‑phase 208 V AC power to a high density array of rack equipment while providing real‑time load metering and monitoring. This vertical, zero‑U PDU is intended for use by data center power engineers and infrastructure administrators to manage and balance rack electrical load, improve energy efficiency, and prevent overload conditions on critical IT distribution circuits. The unit does not provide UPS backup power; its purpose is controlled power distribution and active metering in network closets, server rooms, and data halls.

This PDU supports a 208 V three‑phase input via IEC 60309 60 A 3P+PE connector with a maximum continuous capacity of approximately 17.2 kW (48 A per phase). Distribution is provided through 18 total outlets — 6 × IEC 60320 C13 and 12 × IEC 60320 C19 — allowing versatile connection of servers, switches, storage appliances, and other IT devices requiring 208 V power. The vertical zero‑U design mounts along rack posts or frames, preserving horizontal rack space for active equipment.
