Overview

The Eaton SRW6UG is a compact wall-mount rack enclosure designed to secure and organize 19-inch EIA-310 rack equipment in confined technical spaces such as network wiring closets, retail IT rooms, VoIP closets, and classroom AV installations. It is typically deployed by network and facilities engineers where limited floor space requires overhead or wall-mounted equipment organization rather than traditional floor racks. Its purpose is to provide mechanical support, physical security, and passive ventilation for network switches, routers, patch panels, and other shallow-depth rack devices.

This enclosure offers 6U of vertical rack space with mounting rails that hold typical 19-inch rackmount gear up to 16.5 in (419 mm) deep. Constructed from heavy-duty steel with a black powder-coat finish and a shatter-resistant clear acrylic front window, it allows visual inspection of installed equipment without unlocking the door while maintaining structural protection against tampering.

Mechanically, the cabinet mounts directly to wall surfaces using user-supplied anchors that must support the combined equipment and enclosure weight. The unit includes vented side, top, and bottom panels for passive airflow, removable side panels for cabling access, and adjustable vertical rails that accommodate standard mounting hardware (M6 screws and cage nuts included).

Integration is strictly physical; the SRW6UG has no active electrical, cooling, or network management functions. Ensure the wall substrate and anchoring hardware are rated to support up to 200 lb (90.7 kg) of static load × the unit's maximum equipment and enclosure rating. This model works well with shallow switches, small servers, and patching gear but is not engineered for deep or heavy IT equipment that exceeds its depth or weight limits.

A practical deployment scenario is organizing a small cluster of network switches, patch panels, and a lightweight UPS in a branch-office wiring closet where floor space is at a premium. It excels where visual access to front panels is needed without full cabinet doors.
