Overview

The Eaton SRW15US SmartRack 15U Wall-Mount Rack Enclosure is a wall-mounted rack cabinet designed to house standard 19-inch IT and networking equipment in space-constrained environments. It is deployed by network engineers, data center technicians, and infrastructure teams to securely organize switches, patch panels, and edge computing devices where floor racks are not practical.

The enclosure supports 15U rack capacity with a maximum static load of 200 lb (90.7 kg), making it suitable for moderate-density network deployments. It supports equipment depths up to 20.5 inches, which covers most switches, routers, and patching hardware used in branch and edge environments.

From a physical deployment perspective, this enclosure is commonly installed in network closets, IDF/MDF rooms, retail back offices, classrooms, and edge infrastructure locations. Its hinged wall-mount design allows the cabinet to swing away from the wall, enabling full rear access during installation and maintenance without removing equipment.

Integration-wise, the unit is compatible with EIA-310-E compliant 19-inch rack equipment and supports both square-hole and threaded mounting rails. It also provides vented panels and airflow paths, allowing passive cooling or integration with optional fan kits in higher thermal-density deployments.

In real-world deployment, this rack is typically used to centralize access switches, fiber termination panels, and PoE switches in a branch office. For example, an enterprise network team may mount this enclosure in a wiring closet to house a 24-port switch, patch panels, and a small UPS, ensuring structured cabling and controlled access.
