Overview

The StarTech RK920WALM is a specialized 9U wall-mount server cabinet designed for space-constrained environments such as hallways, retail back offices, or classrooms. Unlike traditional cabinets where equipment sticks out perpendicular to the wall, this enclosure features a "patch-flush" or vertical mounting orientation. This allows equipment to be mounted parallel to the wall, resulting in a significantly reduced profile that minimizes obstruction in high-traffic areas.

The cabinet supports up to 9U of total rack space: 3U for full-depth equipment (up to 30 inches) and 6U for shallower networking gear like patch panels or switches. Constructed from heavy-duty cold-rolled steel, the RK920WALM features a lockable front door and side panels to prevent unauthorized access to critical infrastructure. The vented design facilitates passive cooling, though it also includes mounting points for optional 120mm fans if active thermal management is required.

This enclosure is an ideal solution for edge computing and localized networking where floor space is unavailable. It ships fully assembled for rapid deployment and includes a 1U shelf and a roll of hook-and-loop cable tie for immediate organization.
