Overview :

The APC AP8706R-NA is a power interconnect cord kit designed for structured rack power distribution in professional data center and IT rack environments. It is deployed by network, systems, and rack engineers where secure and reliable power connections between rack power distribution units (PDUs) and IT equipment are required.

This kit consists of six individual power cables, each with IEC 60320 connectors providing connectivity between standard IEC power inlets and outlets, rated up to 10 A at 250 VAC for North American power infrastructure. The IEC C14 male to IEC C13 female configuration with a locking mechanism improves cable retention under load and reduces accidental disconnection risk.

AP8706R-NA fits rack-mount power distribution systems and IT device power inlets for server, storage, and network equipment in 19‑inch cabinets. The 1.8 m length accommodates flexible routing within dense rack layouts without horizontal cable strain.

The locking feature engages fully when used with compatible receptacles (e.g., APC AP8000 series PDUs) to secure connections during maintenance or vibration-prone conditions. The cable jacket is engineered for typical data center environmental ranges, rated for 0–105 °C operation and standard relative humidity.

In deployment, this kit is suited for secured rack power topologies where cable retention and clear routing are prioritized, such as hyperscale server clusters or high‑density compute racks. It is not intended for direct connection to bare utility feeds or environments lacking standard IEC receptacles. Unsupported use includes environments where non‑IEC power standards are mandated (e.g., NEMA only racks).
