Overview :

The APC AP8706S‑NA is a kit of six locking IEC power cords used to link rack‑mounted power distribution units (PDUs) to IT equipment with standardized IEC power inlets. Data center infrastructure teams, network engineers, and managed service technicians deploy these cords where maintaining solid electrical connections under movement or maintenance is required to avoid unintended power loss.

Each cord in this kit terminates in an IEC 60320 C14 male plug at the PDU end and an IEC 60320 C13 female connector at the device end. The locking feature engages when used with compatible locking receptacles — typically on APC AP8000 series Rack PDUs or devices with matching locking ports — reducing the likelihood of accidental disconnection.

With a 1.8 m (6 ft) length, these cords accommodate equipment racks where PDUs and devices are not directly adjacent, providing flexibility without excess cable slack that can interfere with airflow or cable management. This length is advantageous in 42U server racks and telecom IDF/MDF cabinets where orderly cable routing is critical.
