Overview :

The APC AP8702R‑NA is a set of six short IEC lockable power cords designed to establish secure electrical connections between rack‑mount power distribution units (PDUs) and IT equipment with IEC inputs. This hardware‑level cable kit is deployed by data center engineers and network infrastructure teams to reduce the risk of accidental disconnects in dense rack environments.

Each cable features an IEC 60320 C14 male plug paired with an IEC 60320 C13 female connector, in a right‑angle (90°) form factor on one end for improved routing in constrained rack spaces. The locking mechanism engages when mated with compatible locking receptacles, anchoring the connection and maintaining continuity under movement or during service activity.

The 0.61 m (2 ft) length is suitable for short runs from rack PDUs to adjacent equipment such as servers, switches, or storage nodes within a cabinet, minimizing cable slack that can impede airflow or complicate horizontal management.

Deployment targets include network closets, telecom racks, IDF/MDF cabinets, and high‑density data center racks where frequent hardware access or vibration could otherwise loosen non‑locking power cords. Avoid using this kit for long cabling runs outside the rack face or in non‑IEC power systems.

The AP8702R‑NA kit includes a mix of left‑ and right‑angle jumper configurations to accommodate varying outlet orientations on rack PDUs and equipment power inlets.
