Overview

APC AP6020A is a basic rack power distribution unit (PDU) designed to deliver AC power to rack‑mounted IT equipment in data center and network environments. It is deployed by rack technicians and systems engineers to provide consolidated power distribution from a single inlet to multiple outlets in space‑constrained cabinets.

The unit accepts a universal IEC 60320 C20 input and supports nominal input voltages from 100 V to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. It is rated for a maximum current of 20 A while supplying up to thirteen IEC 60320 C13 outlets sized to support a broad range of server, networking, and storage devices.

Mechanically, AP6020A mounts in either 0U vertical orientation alongside rack rails or as a horizontal 1U PDU depending on rack layout and space requirements. The compact profile preserves usable rack units for active equipment while centralizing outlet distribution.

Electrical design supports basic AC distribution without integrated metering or remote control; provisioning relies on exterior outlet usage and load planning. Overcurrent protection is inherent to electrical design based on input current limits and outlet configuration.

In practical deployment, this PDU is suitable for edge racks, patch‑panel rows, and small server enclosures where simple, reliable power distribution is needed. It is not intended for environments requiring intelligent power monitoring or outlet‑level control.
