APC AP9567 is a basic power distribution unit (PDU) engineered to provide multiple AC outlets in rack and enclosure environments where standardized 120 V power distribution is required. It is used by data center engineers, network technicians, and facilities operators to distribute mains power from a single branch feed to numerous rack‑mounted devices without dedicated distribution infrastructure. The design addresses the need for consistent, locally accessible AC receptacles at the equipment plane.

The PDU accepts a single NEMA 5‑15P input and provides fourteen NEMA 5‑15R output receptacles. It supports up to 15 A nominal current draw with a load capacity up to approximately 1.8 kVA, matching typical North American rack power requirements for servers, switches, storage, and ancillary devices. The attached 3.66 m (12 ft) power cord facilitates reach to nearest branch outlet while maintaining clean cable routing.

AP9567 occupies no usable rack units (0 U) and mounts vertically along standard 19 inch rack uprights, preserving valuable space for active equipment. Tool‑less brackets are included for installation in compatible enclosures, simplifying deployment without additional hardware.

Built‑in overload protection provides fault reaction and helps ensure that transient load conditions do not compromise adjacent loads or connected devices during power anomalies. Physical dimensions and weight support integration into IDF/MDF, edge, and data hall rack installations where basic PDU capacity is sufficient.

In practice, AP9567 is used to supply and balance AC outlets across clusters of rack gear in environments leaning on existing building branch circuits. It is not designed for remote power management, metering, surge suppression, or metered output control — those capabilities require different PDU variants. It should not be deployed where higher amperage circuits, outdoor usage, or hazardous location ratings are mandated.
