The Eaton EHBPL1500R-PDU1U is a single-phase basic power distribution unit combined with a manual HotSwap Maintenance Bypass (MBP) control scheme. It is engineered specifically for system administrators, IT technicians, and infrastructure procurement teams who need to guarantee continuous application availability during routine utility servicing. By establishing a separate physical bypass circuit, this unit enables full servicing, isolation, or hot-swapping of an online uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system without requiring a scheduled shutdown or dropping connected production equipment.

Operating at a maximum rating of 1.44 kW and handling a 12 A continuous load at 110–125 V AC, this PDU manages incoming utility electricity to sustain critical infrastructure when the host UPS is physically disconnected from the line. Power input is delivered through an 8-foot (2.44-meter) line cord ending in a standard NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug, providing sufficient reach to link up with standard wall receptacles or distant utility distribution blocks. The distribution array provides six standard NEMA 5-15R outlets to accommodate multiple downstream equipment bundles simultaneously.

This bypass module supports horizontal rack-mount deployment across standard server cabinets, taking up minimal footprint when attached to server rail channels or stacked next to compatible UPS enclosures. It is specifically designed for 700 VA to 1500 VA single-phase power setups, maintaining direct physical compatibility with the Eaton 5130, 9130, EX, and 9PX systems (such as the 9PX1000RT and 9PX1500RT). It should NOT be deployed in high-voltage 208V/240V network topologies or alongside infrastructure loads exceeding its strict 12 A load threshold.
