Overview :

The Eaton PDUMH20HVATS is a 1U horizontal single-phase Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) local metered power distribution unit from the Tripp Lite series. Data center infrastructure engineers and system administrators deploy this specialized PDU to deliver high-availability redundant power to single-corded network devices. By integrating dual input capabilities with solid-state switching logic, it prevents service disruptions in critical computing hardware by maintaining active electrical paths during source dropouts.

The unit manages an aggregate output capacity of 3.8kW over a flexible 200-240V nominal range, with a maximum 20A input circuit rating de-rated by agencies to 16A continuous. Its rear deployment distribution footprint features ten network-grade outlets partitioned into eight IEC 320 C13 and two IEC 320 C19 receptacles. To eliminate high electrical inrush current events during initial startup sequencing, the internal programming enforces a factory-set 250-millisecond delay interval across outlets when first energized.

Constructed inside a rugged, 1U horizontal rackmount steel enclosure, the hardware utilizes twin 12-foot detachable C19-to-C20 input cables to connect concurrently into primary and secondary power grids, separate UPS units, or generators. The internal solid-state ATS circuit continuously evaluates power metrics, executing a seamless transfer from a failing primary line to the secondary circuit within 2 to 5 milliseconds. A front-facing two-digit LED ammeter provides local real-time telemetry on active total current loads.

The PDUMH20HVATS is fully Trade Agreements Act (TAA) compliant for federal GSA schedules and interfaces cleanly with standard 19-inch equipment racks. It includes plug-lock insert sleeves to mechanically anchor attached C14 and C20 device cords against accidental cable disconnects. This ATS PDU must not be deployed on 120V low-voltage utility lines, in environments demanding remote network interface switching controls, or with hardware arrays that exceed the strict 16A total continuous current ceiling.
