Overview :

The Eaton PDU15NETLX is a compact network‑managed rack power distribution unit (PDU) with switched outlet control, designed for small‑scale IT rack installations that require remote power cycling. It’s deployed by network engineers, data center support teams, and facilities managers to remotely control power to connected devices such as switches, firewalls, servers, or edge appliances over an IP network. The objective is remote power on/off, reboot, or lock‑out capabilities for specific outlets.

Electrically, the PDU15NETLX accepts single‑phase 120 V AC input via a NEMA 5‑15P plug on a 6 ft (1.83 m) cord, rated up to 12 A continuous (~1.44 kW). It provides two individually switched NEMA 5‑15R receptacles. Local front‑panel LEDs show each outlet’s status, network link/activity, and overall system condition.

Mechanically, its 0U vertical mount form factor uses included brackets to install along EIA‑310 rack posts, on walls, or under counters, conserving rack U space. Its half‑width form factor also facilitates shelf or desktop placement if needed.

The unit includes a built‑in LX Platform network interface with SNMP (v1/v2c/v3), HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, Telnet, FTP, DHCP, NTP, SMTP and IPv4/IPv6 protocol support for integration into management frameworks. It also supports Eaton PowerAlert (PADM) for centralized monitoring, email alerts, and automation features such as Auto Probe for device health‑check actions.

Typical deployments include small branch racks, edge closets, or lab racks where only a couple of devices require managed power control and remote reboot capability. This unit is not suited for dense rack layouts requiring many switched outlets, dual‑feed redundancy, per‑outlet metering beyond on/off control, or integration with high‑availability PDUs. For larger deployments, full‑height switched PDUs with more outlets and advanced metering would be appropriate.
