Overview

The Eaton PDUV15 is a basic single-phase rack power distribution unit designed to provide reliable AC power distribution to IT equipment in rack environments. It delivers 120V power through multiple NEMA 5-15R outlets and is typically deployed by data center technicians, network engineers, and infrastructure teams that require non-switched power distribution within rack enclosures. The device distributes incoming AC power from a UPS, generator source, or facility mains to multiple servers and network devices while maintaining a simple, low-overhead architecture.

The PDU operates on a 120V single-phase electrical system with a 15-amp input and supports a maximum load of approximately 1.44 kW under continuous operation. It includes fourteen NEMA 5-15R output receptacles and connects to facility power using a NEMA 5-15P plug with an attached 15-foot power cord. A built-in 15-amp resettable circuit breaker provides overload protection to prevent electrical faults from affecting connected equipment.

This PDU is designed for deployment in standard EIA-310 server racks using a 0U vertical mounting orientation. The 36-inch strip format mounts along the side of a rack enclosure, preserving horizontal rack space for servers, storage arrays, and network switching hardware. Network switches, firewall appliances, and rack-mount servers are connected to the fourteen available outlets while the PDU itself is powered from a rack-mounted UPS or dedicated facility circuit. This configuration allows infrastructure teams to distribute protected power efficiently without consuming valuable rack units.

This device should not be deployed in environments that require outlet-level switching, remote monitoring, or power metering. In those cases, a managed or metered rack PDU should be used instead. The PDUV15 is intended specifically for basic power distribution scenarios where simple, reliable AC pass-through is the primary requirement.
