The Eaton PDUMV30HV2 is a 0U local-metered vertical rack power distribution unit (PDU) designed to distribute single-phase 208-240V power to multiple IT devices in rack environments. It is deployed by data center engineers, network administrators, and facilities teams where high-density power distribution and branch-circuit load visibility are required without remote management. The PDU delivers structured, monitored power to servers, switches, storage, and other rack-mounted infrastructure.

This model accepts a nominal 30A input on a NEMA L6-30P plug with a 10-ft cord and is agency-derated to 24A continuous operating current for safety and compliance. It provides up to approximately 5.8 kW of power capacity at 240V (derated to ~5.0 kW at 208V). Two digital current meters present real-time load readings for each independent load bank, enabling engineers to balance circuits and avoid overload conditions during deployment and capacity planning.

The PDUMV30HV2 installs alongside rack posts in a 0U vertical orientation, preserving valuable rack U-height for active equipment. This makes it suitable for data centers, network closets, and telecom rooms where vertical PDUs support high-outlet counts without consuming horizontal rack space. It supports integration with standard 19-inch rack infrastructures and pairs with UPS systems or generator feeds with compatible L6-30R receptacles.

Integration includes color-coded outlets and breakers for straightforward identification of outlet bank assignments during cabling and commissioning. Plug-lock inserts and included hardware support secure connections and firm attachment in mission-critical environments. The unit supports standard single-phase AC power ecosystems and complements structured power architectures in both enterprise and distributed edge racks.

In a practical deployment, the PDUMV30HV2 is used to distribute power in racks with a mix of servers, top-of-rack switches, and storage units. Operators can verify that load distribution across the two banks remains balanced and within safe parameters before commissioning, improving reliability and reducing unexpected breaker trips.

This PDU is not suitable for deployments requiring remote network-based power control or per-outlet switching. It also should not be used where three-phase power feed distribution is required, or in environments needing advanced DCIM integration beyond local metering.
