Overview

The Eaton PDU1220 is a straightforward, no-frills power distribution unit (PDU) built for general IT rack deployments where many devices need power and you don’t need advanced metering or switching. It’s designed for 120 V single-phase power distribution, rated for up to 20 A or approximately 2.4 kW of load. The unit features 13 NEMA outlets (12 at the rear, 1 in front) and connects to a standard NEMA 5-20P plug via a 15-ft heavy-duty cord. The housing is all-metal, reversible, and mounts in 1U of rack space (standard 19″ EIA width) or can be configured for zero-U vertical mounting with optional brackets. It doesn’t include a power switch (to avoid accidental shutdown) and instead offers a dedicated 20 A circuit breaker for overload protection. From a network-engineer’s viewpoint: if you’re wiring a rack of servers, storage, or networking gear with typical 120 V loads and you want a reliable PDU to distribute power from a UPS or utility feed, the PDU1220 fits well.
