Overview

The Eaton EVMAGU23X is a G4 generation managed rack power distribution unit (PDU) designed for high-density IT racks requiring monitored and controlled power delivery. It is deployed by data center and infrastructure engineers to distribute power across multiple devices while maintaining visibility at the outlet level. The unit addresses power management, load balancing, and remote control requirements in modern rack deployments.

The PDU supports universal input configurations, allowing operation across single-phase (100–240V) and three-phase (200–415V) electrical systems. Power capacity scales up to 23kW depending on the selected input cable and configuration. It provides 42 total outlets, including 24 IEC C13 and 18 IEC C39 combination outlets, enabling connection of mixed IT loads such as servers, storage arrays, and network switches.

The unit is designed in a 0U vertical form factor, mounting alongside rack rails without consuming usable rack space. With a height aligned to full rack (approximately 72 inches), it is suited for 42U cabinets in data centers, colocation environments, and enterprise server rooms where maximizing rack density is required.

Integration is achieved through a hot-swappable Gigabit Network Module, supporting SNMP, web interface, CLI, and API-based access. The PDU enables outlet-level monitoring and switching, along with real-time telemetry and alerting. It integrates into centralized management systems such as DCIM platforms, allowing coordinated power management across racks.

In deployment, the PDU is installed vertically in the rack and connected to upstream power sources such as UPS systems or facility distribution panels. Devices are distributed across multiple load banks with dedicated circuit protection, allowing phase balancing and controlled power allocation across high-density equipment stacks.

This unit is not suitable for low-density or unmanaged environments where only basic power distribution is required. It is also not intended for deployments lacking network infrastructure, as its primary functionality depends on remote monitoring and outlet-level control capabilities.
