Overview

The Eaton EVMA1530X is a three‑phase managed rack power distribution unit (PDU) engineered to deliver controlled AC distribution and remote power management for high‑density IT racks. It is deployed by data center operations, network engineers, and facilities teams to support servers, storage arrays, and network appliances in distributed and enterprise rack environments where granular power control and monitoring are required.

This managed PDU supports a 208 V three‑phase (delta) input via a NEMA L15‑30P plug and distributes up to 8.6 kW (24 A per phase) to connected equipment. It provides a mix of 42 outlets — 24 IEC 60320 C13 and 18 IEC 60320 C39 high‑retention universal receptacles (accepting both C14 and C20), enabling flexible device connections and reducing the need for additional power strips.

The unit mounts in 0U vertical orientation alongside rack posts, preserving usable rack space for critical equipment. An embedded gigabit network management module (GNM) supports remote access, outlet‑level metering, real‑time alerts, and switching for individual outlets, enabling remote reboot and integration with monitoring tools via SNMP and Ethernet.

Outlet banks are color‑coded and supply metering and switched control down to each outlet bank, supporting load balancing and operational insights for high‑density deployments. The PDU also incorporates cybersecurity features such as secure firmware boot and zero‑trust provisioning to reduce attack surface in managed environments.

A practical deployment covers a 42U server rack in a data center or colocation facility, providing centralized control of power distribution, load metering, and remote outlet control — especially where environmental sensor integration and automation workflows are part of infrastructure operations. This PDU is not designed for use as a standalone UPS or as a single‑phase distribution unit in non‑three‑phase electrical systems.
