Mechanically, the N844-01M-12-P is 1 m (3.3 ft) in length, with an aqua plenum-rated jacket compliant with riser and plenum fire safety codes, suitable for telecommunications spaces and data center cable trays. The push/pull tab design enhances accessibility in dense MTP/MPO environments.

Integration into structured networks includes link termination between MTP/MPO ports on switches, optical modules, and breakout panels in MDF/IDF cabinets. This cable is not a transceiver, nor does it include breakout harnesses; field planners must ensure connected equipment supports parallel optics or appropriate splitting solutions. It also is not shielded for EMI/RFI, being intended for optical runs.
