Overview

The Eaton SR42UBMDEXPND is a 42U four-post open frame rack designed for data center, enterprise, and edge infrastructure deployments requiring high-capacity equipment mounting with unrestricted airflow and cable access.

This SmartRack expansion enclosure supports up to 3000 lbs stationary load capacity and 2250 lbs rolling load capacity for dense server, storage, and networking installations. The rack includes adjustable square-hole mounting rails, integrated baying tabs for multi-rack row deployment, and tool-less 0U mounting support for compatible PDUs and cable managers. The 36-inch mid-depth design supports standard 19-inch rack equipment while reducing overall floor footprint in constrained environments.

The unit is commonly deployed in colocation facilities, enterprise server rooms, network distribution areas, and hot-aisle/cold-aisle containment environments. Preinstalled casters and leveling feet simplify positioning during installation and expansion projects.

The SR42UBMDEXPND is compatible with standard EIA 19-inch rackmount equipment and Eaton SmartRack accessories. It is not intended for deployments requiring enclosed cabinet security, acoustic isolation, or controlled airflow containment without additional rack accessories.
