Overview

The HPE AM869A is an enterprise SAN traffic switch designed for data‑centre storage fabrics and SAN edge environments where high‑density Fibre Channel connectivity is required. The unit supports auto‑sensing of 1/2/4/8 Gbps Fibre Channel SFPs across configurable port counts, providing a flexible platform for consolidated storage traffic. In its base configuration, it enables 24 ports (expandable to 40 ports via licence) within a 1U rack‑mount chassis, delivering up to 680 Gbps aggregate full‑duplex bandwidth and ISL trunking up to 64 Gbps for high‑speed inter‑switch links. It supports advanced features such as integrated routing, frame filtering, zoning, hot‑swappable power and cooling, and full fabric management tools.
