Overview :

The Eaton WEBCARDLXE is a network management card designed to convert compatible Eaton/Tripp Lite UPS systems into managed network devices. It is deployed by IT infrastructure teams, data center operators, and facilities engineers who require remote visibility and control of uninterruptible power systems. Its primary function is to expose UPS telemetry and administrative controls over standard Ethernet using industry protocols.

Installed into an accessory slot of supported SmartPro and SmartOnline UPS models, the WEBCARDLXE provides a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface plus local USB connectivity. It supports TCP/IP, SNMP (v1/v2c/v3), HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, Telnet, FTP, DHCP, and related services, enabling network monitoring, event trap delivery, and session‑based control.

This module fits into on‑rack UPS deployments in server rooms, network closets, and edge racks, offering a way to integrate UPS status and events into central management platforms or DCIM tools. It is not a standalone appliance; it requires a compatible UPS with a designated card slot.

With WEBCARDLXE, remote administrators can view power conditions, UPS self‑tests, and alerts, and issue remote reboots or controlled shutdowns where supported by the host UPS. Integration with Eaton’s PowerAlert Device Manager and PAEM (PowerAlert Element Manager) software streamlines mass configuration and firmware updates across multiple devices.

A practical deployment is in a midsize IDF rack or departmental server room where multiple UPS units need centralized monitoring via SNMP or HTTPS dashboards. The module is not appropriate for environments that require out‑of‑band management independent of the UPS host (e.g., dedicated BMC appliances) or where UPS models lack the necessary accessory slot.
