The HPE 840139‑001 (640FLR‑SFP28) is a FlexibleLOM Network Adapter with two SFP28-capable ports supporting both 10 GbE and 25 GbE speeds. Designed for HPE ProLiant Gen9/Gen10 and Apollo servers, this high-performance carddelivers up to 50 Gbps aggregate bandwidth using a single PCIe 3.0 ×8 interface. It features advanced offloads like VXLAN & NVGRE tunnel acceleration and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE), making it ideal for virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, and next‑generation workloads with minimal CPU overhead. It auto-negotiates to 10 GbE when needed, offering flexible deployment and future-proofing. 

Features

This adapter is built on Mellanox ConnectX‑4 Lx architecture and supports PCIe 3.0 ×8 FlexibleLOM integration. Both ports support 25 GbE natively, with fallback to 10 GbE compatibility ensuring deployment flexibility. It includes key offload capabilities such as VXLAN and NVGRE tunnel offloading, RoCE v2 support, and messaging acceleration (VMA) to reduce latency and CPU utilization in overlay-heavy environments. Virtualization support is robust, featuring SR‑IOV, LACP, jumbo frames (up to 9.2 KB), VLAN tagging, QoS, LLDP, PXE boot, and 1588v2 accurate time sync. At ~9.7 W operational power, it minimizes thermal and power impact. It plugs directly into HPE FlexibleLOM slot, freeing up expansion space and maintaining server efficiency.
