The INTELLINET 509688 is a Gigabit media converter with an integrated IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ injector that extends Ethernet networks over fiber while simultaneously delivering power to compatible PoE devices. It is designed for enterprise, surveillance, industrial edge, and campus network deployments where fiber connectivity and high-power PoE are required.
The unit features one 10/100/1000Base-T RJ45 port and one SFP slot for 1000Base-X fiber transceivers. It supports fiber transmission distances of up to 120 km, depending on the installed SFP module, while providing up to 90 W of PoE output for high-power devices such as PTZ IP cameras, PoE lighting, thin clients, and wireless access points.
Its metal enclosure and fanless design make it suitable for desktop or cabinet installation in data centers, enterprise wiring closets, branch offices, and long-distance network extensions. The converter operates transparently without requiring network configuration, simplifying copper-to-fiber migration.
The 509688 is compatible with IEEE 802.3bt, 802.3at, and 802.3af powered devices and supports standard Gigabit Ethernet networks using compatible 1000Base-X SFP modules. It is not intended for applications requiring 10 Gigabit Ethernet or non-standard fiber transceivers.
