HP C7977AN LTO-7 Ultrium 15 TB RW Data Cartridge
Overview :
The HP C7977AN is a rewritable LTO-7 Ultrium data cartridge designed for enterprise backup, archive, and long-term storage environments where high capacity and reliability are required. It offers a native storage capacity of 6 TB and a compressed capacity of up to 15 TB (assuming 2.5:1 compression), enabling large datasets to be archived efficiently. The tape supports a data transfer rate of up to 700 MB/s (native) under ideal conditions and is built with barium ferrite media, providing an archival life of up to 30 years in proper storage conditions. Its robust design includes 3 ,584 magnetic tracks and a smart-grabber mechanism to prevent tape leader issues, making it suitable for automated tape libraries and high-duty-cycle environments. This cartridge fits into LTO-7 capable drives and is often used in data centers, enterprise archive tiers, and disaster-recovery off-site vaults.
